Build / advisory

Senior judgment on what to build, and what to prove first.

Product advisory is product strategy, MVP scoping, roadmap and investor readiness, from people who have built and shipped, not just advised. Most speed comes from not building the wrong thing. We help you decide what matters first, so the build that follows is aimed at the right question.

The expensive decisions happen before any code

By the time a team is building, the costly choices are already made: what to build, who it is for, what to prove first, what to leave out. A team can execute brilliantly against the wrong decision and still waste months. The decisions that matter most are upstream, in the thinking that sets the direction, and that is where a wrong call is cheapest to catch and most expensive to miss.

Advisory is that thinking, done with someone who has made these calls before. Not a framework applied from the outside, but judgment on your specific situation: which belief to test, what the smallest honest test is, what a real roadmap looks like, and what has to be true before you raise. The point is to spend your next few months on the right thing.

What we advise on

  • Product strategy. What to build, in what order, and why. The shape of the thing and the sequence that gets you to proof fastest.
  • MVP scoping. The smallest version that honestly answers the question, with the discipline to leave out everything that does not.
  • Roadmap. The path from proof to full product, so each step earns the next instead of betting everything up front.
  • Investor readiness. What has to be true, and shown, before you raise, so you walk into the room with the right evidence.

Why it holds up

Advice is only worth the judgment behind it. Ours comes from building and shipping products, including our own, which are on this site for you to look at. We tell you what we would do and why, including the uncomfortable answers: when to wait, when to do less, and when the honest move is not to build at all yet.

Best for

Founders and CXOs deciding where to spend.

Founders and CXOs who want senior judgment on what to build, and what to prove first, before committing time and budget.

Take the advice on its own, or the whole journey from design to growth.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is this strategy, or hands-on?

It is senior judgment from people who build, aimed at decisions. We help you work out what to build and what to prove first. If you then want it built, that is the rest of the Build pillar, but the thinking stands on its own.

What does advisory actually cover?

Product strategy, MVP scoping, roadmap, and investor readiness. The decisions that set the direction before anyone writes code, which are the decisions that are most expensive to get wrong.

How is this different from a management consultant?

We advise from having shipped products, not from a framework. The calls we help you make are ones we have had to make ourselves, with our own money and time on the line, which is a different kind of advice than a deck of best practices.

Do I have to build with you after?

No. The advice stands on its own. You can take the direction and run it with your own team, and we would rather give you an honest answer you act on elsewhere than a plan that only works if you hire us.

When is advisory the right starting point?

When you have more ideas than clarity, when you are about to commit budget and want a second senior opinion first, or when you need to decide what to prove before an investor conversation. If you already know what to build, go straight to a validation build.
